When it comes to oral health, one can get as many problems in all the parts: tooth decay, chapped lips, bad breath and gum bleeding can be considered to be the worst part. Bleeding gums usually resulted from vitamin C deficiency and once it happen, it brings some irritation such as bad breath, painful gums or even sore throat. It is highly recommend that you see your dentists. However, you can also use some natural treatments that are proved to be safe and effective, yet cost you hardly money.
Here are some home remedies that you can try.
1. Citrus Fruits
As mentioned above, one of main reasons cause bleeding gums is inadequate of vitamin C. Make sure to provide your body with enough vitamin C in-take by any means. If it is not included in the meals, you can eat some rich-in vitamin C fruits and juice such as lemon, orange and some other types of vegetable like broccoli, cabbage. In addition, you can take some vitamin C supplement food if possible. However, don’t overuse them.
2. Milk
The other way you can go for to treat bleeding gums is drinking milk. Milk is rich in calcium, which makes it one of the best solutions. Once you provide yourself with sufficient amount of calcium and source of fat, it can stop gums from bleeding.
Note that you can only apply this way if you are not lactose intolerant and brush your teeth carefully after drinking milk.
3. Clove Oil
Clove Oil is rich in antibacterial properties and has long been using to treat gum diseases.
Here is how to apply:
· Take out small amount of clove oil.
· Directly or using a cotton ball to rub on your gums.
· Leave it at least 1 hour then rinse your mouth off with water.
4. Salt
People have been using salt to cure any oral problems for ages, including gums diseases. Plus, it is the easiest and most effective way to apply.
Here’s how to apply:
· In a cup of lukewarm water, dissolve 2 teaspoon of salt.
· Gargle your mouth with the solution for at least 3 times a day.
· Use it as mouthwash even when the gums stop bleeding.
5. Baking soda
Along with exfoliating benefits, baking soda can act as a home treatment for bleeding gums. The easiest way to use baking soda is to make it your toothpaste.
Here’s how to apply:
· In a cup of baking soda dip your toothbrush in.
· Brush your teeth with powder twice a day.
Alternatively use it as mouthwash to swish throughout the day.
6. Raw vegetables
Vegetables alone can treat many health problems as well as improve your skin. Any type of vegetable is rich in vitamins and even protein with low fat properties. You can include more vegetable in your daily meal to treat bleeding gums along with the above ways or apply the following:
· Prepare a handful of fresh vegetables, any type.
· Directly chew them to extract the juice in your mouth.
· Leave it for a while then spit out.
· Rinse off with water.
7. Tea tree oil
The oil is great in treating bleeding gums along with other benefits owing to its richness in antibacterial properties. One way to apply is using it as mouth wash or including the oil in your toothpaste. Regular applying can prevent inflammation and bacteria from spreading over your mouth.
Here is how to apply:
· In a cup of lukewarm water, add 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil.
· Gargle the solution the morning you wake up and the night before going to bed.
· Repeat the process until your gums stops bleeding which may take one month or more.
